# CCD2 with Ratepay shop modules div div ⏱ 3 min div 👤 Merchant Onboarding Team (Marcel K.) Use this guide if your integration uses a Ratepay module for **Shopware 6 or Magento 2** and there is the need to be CCD2 compliant with Ratepay payment methods. **Before you start:** - New to CCD2? Read [**What is CCD2?**](/docs/legal/a_legal_requirements_for_the_integration/ccd2/what_is_ccd2). - Check whether CCD2 applies to you: [**Do I need to take action?**](/docs/legal/a_legal_requirements_for_the_integration/ccd2/do_i_need_to_take_action). - See who does what: [**Shop modules: Your CCD2 responsibilities**](/docs/legal/a_legal_requirements_for_the_integration/ccd2/responsibilities/shop_modules) **Some sales not going through the shop module?** If you use a different Ratepay integration for them, see the [integration overview](/docs/legal/a_legal_requirements_for_the_integration/ccd2/integration) for the CCD2 steps that apply. The updated module handles the CCD2 steps in your checkout. Your part: update the module, choose how buyers receive the SECCI, and check your BNPL presentation. Testing is recommended. *Note: CCD2-related changes are not supported in Shopware 5, Magento 1 and xtCommerce shop modules.* ## What you need to do ### 1. Update the Ratepay module Update your Ratepay module to the version below, or later. Update your test shop first. Once testing is complete (see step 4), update your live shop. | Shop system | Minimum Ratepay module version | Available from | | --- | --- | --- | | Shopware 6 | Version 10.x.x or higher | [GitHub](https://github.com/ratepay/shopware6-module) or [Update via Shopware Store](https://docs.ratepay.com/docs/developer/shop_modules/shopware/shopware_6/get_started/installation_update_uninstall#update) | | Magento 2 | Version 3.x.x or higher | [GitHub](https://github.com/ratepay/magento2-module) | **Before you continue, check that:** - The minimum version or later is installed in your test shop. ### 2. Choose your SECCI experience pattern The module supports the two experiences described in [Shop module buyer experience](/docs/legal/a_legal_requirements_for_the_integration/ccd2/responsibilities/shop_modules#online-shop-buyer-experience). We recommend Automatic SECCI email, and it’s the default. To use Explicit SECCI interaction instead, change the setting in your shop admin under the following path: - **Shopware 6**: My extensions > Ratepay Payment Plug-in - Configure > Settings > SECCI (CCD2) experience pattern - **Magento 2**: Stores > Configurations > Sales > Payment Methods > Ratepay Plug-in - Configure > SECCI (CCD2) experience pattern **Before you continue, check that:** - The SECCI experience is set to the one you want. ### 3. Present BNPL payment methods fairly and transparently Where BNPL is promoted, relevant costs and risks must be communicated clearly. Available payment methods should also be presented without undue emphasis on credit. **Before you continue, check that:** - All available payment methods are visible from the start - No in-scope method is pre-selected or emphasised - The buyer makes the choice. ### 4. Test your checkout Testing is especially important if your theme or extensions change the payment step: customisations can hide the SECCI notice or break the delivery step. In your test shop connected to Ratepay’s integration environment, place a B2C order using each CCD2-scoped payment method you offer. Ensure you use an accessible email address, then verify that: - The SECCI notice appears in checkout. - **Automatic SECCI email delivery**: the SECCI email arrives at the buyer’s address. - **Explicit SECCI interaction**: both the download and the email option work. - The order can’t be placed until the SECCI has been provided. - Credit decline: enter `Credit Score` or `Credit Data` as the buyer’s first name. Check that the full decline explanation appears in checkout, with working links. If something is missing, check your theme overrides and extensions first. For any other issues, please reach out to your Ratepay representative. ### 5. After the purchase No action needed. Continue your normal order process. When you capture the transaction, Ratepay sends the Credit Contract Information to the buyer. If the amount increases later, Ratepay provides any updated credit information. There is no new SECCI generation request or token after checkout.
