1) What payment methods does Ratepay offer?

Ratepay supports Open Invoice, SEPA Direct Debit, and Pay in 3. Availability depends on merchant contract, country and buyer eligibility.

2) Which countries and customer groups are supported?

The possibilities are stated here. Exact availability is contract‑ and product specific.

3) What is Open Invoice?

The buyer receives the goods first and pays an invoice within the specified due date. Ratepay activates the claim after the merchant confirms the shipment (via Capture / Confirmation Deliver).

4) What is SEPA Direct Debit?

Ratepay collects the amount from the buyer’s bank account via SEPA direct debit after Capture / Confirmation Deliver.

5) What is Pay in 3?

The buyer splits the purchase into 3 monthly payments. No interest or fees apply if payments are made on time.

6) Are products available for B2B as well as B2C?

Yes - depending on contract and product possibility, see here. Buyer data requirements may differ (e.g., company name & VAT ID for B2B, date of birth for B2C).

7) For which sales channels can I offer the Ratepay payment methods?

The Ratepay payment methods can be offered for Online shop-, Mail / Telephone- and for Point of Sale transactions.

8) Are there product‑specific buyer requirements?

Yes, e.g., minimum age, valid address, bank account for direct debit, and successful risk assessment.

9) Does Ratepay perform a credit/risk check for all products?

Yes, during the Authorize transaction / Payment Request, Ratepay evaluates the transaction based on buyer and basket data. Depth and factors can differ by product.

10) Does Ratepay support partial shipments for all products?

Yes. Partial captures allow shipping in multiple steps. Subsequent correspondences or direct debit collections reflect the captured items.

11) Are vouchers, discounts, and deposits supported?

Yes, they should be properly reflected in the basket breakdown (items, taxes, shipping, discounts) to ensure correct authorization and settlement.

12) Is there a minimum/maximum basket amount per payment method?

Usually yes. Limits depend individually on contractual agreement. Transactions outside limits may be declined.

13) Are digital goods or services supported?

Depends on merchant vertical and contractual agreement. Physical goods with shipment signals are most common; services may need special handling.

14) Are prepaid or gift card scenarios supported?

Using the Ratepay payment methods with baskets, where the purchase of gift cards are intended, are not allowed. In case an already bought gift card should be redeemed, it should be transmitted as separate discount item during the authorization, so the amount will be reduced.
