When Ratepay declines a payment for credit-risk reasons under CCD2, the response contains reason code 722 and a <customer-message> inside <processing>. This can happen in responses to both PAYMENT_REQUEST and PAYMENT_QUERY.
The message explains the decision. It can include links for exercising data-protection rights and for requesting a human review. Show the complete message as returned: not a generic decline text, and not a hard-coded copy of the example below.
We recommend that you limit the number of order attempts when receiving this reason code to 1 per 24 hours.
In case this reason code will be responded, you need to parse the <customer-message> within the response and show it in your checkout / interface as rejection text! The language of this text will be defined via the <language> parameter of the PAYMENT_REQUEST.
