When Ratepay declines a requested operation (e.g. authorization request), it provides a decline category and one or multiple decline reasons in the error response. In addition, HTTP status codes are used. Each decline category belongs to exactly one HTTP status code. Decline reasons are used to specify the exact problem within a decline category.

The following table lists all decline categories grouped by HTTP status codes. Click on a decline category to view the valid decline reasons for that category.
